Arrrrrr... Talk Like a Pirate!

Did you know that every year there is a special day dedicated just to pirates? This Sunday, September 19th is Talk Like a Pirate Day!

The holiday was created by a couple of friends while playing racquetball in 1995. For about 7 years they celebrated the day by themselves, no one else really knew about it. In 2002, one of the friends decided to contact David Barry, the Pulitzer Prize winning author and columist to share the idea with him. Barry liked the idea so much, that in 2004 he wrote this column promoting the holiday. The rest is history!

While talking like a pirate is fun, playing a board game while talking like a pirate is even better. What better game to play on Talk Like a Pirate Day than Pirate Versus Pirate, the swashbucklin’ game of swords and rewaaarrrds!

In this game three bands of pirates have discovered an island brimming with treasure. Conquer the island by capturing the gold and silver, or by eliminating the enemy pirates. Position your pirates carefully, enemies are all around and they are hungry for treasure.
